I'm starting on my internship next week, so this is really the last time that I can wear a really glittery, fancy-pantsy manicure.
So, I decided to just glitz it up.
I am the biggest ever fan of Marchesa. It is my favourite designer brand, ever. Hands down. No contest. One of the things that keeps me going in law school is knowing that I need to be able to afford to wear Marchesa exclusively at every single event that I will attend in the future (DIFFERENT DRESS EACH TIME!!!!!!).
This is one of my favourite looks from Marchesa (Spring 2013):
LOOK. AT. THAT. DETAIL. This was their Indian-princessy-inspired-ish collection, and the fabrics and the draping were so exquisite like omfg-I-can't-breathe.
In order to achieve my Marchesa (... Marchesa-inspired) mani, I put a glitter topper of OPI's polka.com over two coats of OPI's The One That Got Away (from the Katy Perry collection...... obviously).
(Funny story; The One That Got Away actually WAS the one that got away because I'd JUST found it in my mother's nail polish stash after a year of it being missing from mine. Hi, momma.)
This is a single coat of The One That Got Away, which, as you can see, is a fuschia-pinkish-magenta-shimmery kind of shade. It's a little bit patchy, but I'm attributing that to my less-than-perfect nail-painting ability. It is a little thin, however, and you would need two coats to achieve full opacity. You can see a little of the shimmer as well, if you look closely.
This is with the glitter topper in direct sunlight! I must say, I really like polka.com. It's a pretty interesting blend of round bluish-greenish, purplish, and pink glitters in a clear base, and it works with everything I've tried it with (mainly jelly sandwiches). I did have to do a bit of glitter placement, but it wasn't too frustrating.
I love how the magenta base makes the bluish-green glitter pop!!
More pictures.... because I got overexcited. That's the bunny ring that my young man gave me for Christmas. You can't really see the bunnies, but that's okay. I know they're there (pleased face).
This is my parting shot, against my maroon skirt. It's so pretty. :') I know that I say that about most of my manis, but this is honestly one of my favourites. I kept staring at it during lunch and my mother was like ok please eat please eat please eat are you eating I won't feed you cake after this if you aren't gonna finish your food.
I was really desperate for cake. So like. I eventually finished eating. But my nails take the cake. Ok pun, sorry.
Ok time to do other productive things, now. Ciao!!
